Prepared by: Charity Helpers Foundation
Date: 2025-06-14
Version: 1.0

---

**CONCEPT SUMMARY**
Signal Sprint fuses athletic relay sprinting with quick decoding of Morse code signals. Teams must race to the signal station, decode the message, and relay back accurate answers to score.

---

**REQUIRED EQUIPMENT**

- Stopwatch/timer
- Batons for relay
- Flashlight or beeper for Morse code signaling
- Laminated Morse code charts
- Signal station (desk, cone area, etc.)
- Answer cards or whiteboard for responses
- Whistle

---

**FIELD LAYOUT**

- Relay track (indoor or outdoor) with 3–4 handoff zones
- Signal station midway or at one end
- Code input/response station at the opposite end

---

**PLAYER ROLES**

- 4 players per team (3 runners + 1 decoder)
- 1 signal judge
- 1 code master/referee

---

**GAME OBJECTIVE**

Be the fastest and most accurate team to complete the relay, decode the signal, and deliver the correct message back to base.

---

**BASIC RULES**

1. Each team starts with one runner holding a baton.
2. Runner dashes to signal station and receives Morse code (flashes or beeps).
3. Decoder must write the translated message using a chart (no electronic help).
4. Message must be run back to the base station and handed off.
5. Time stops when final baton return and correct answer are verified.
6. Incorrect message = 15 second penalty added.

---

**VARIATIONS / SCALING IDEAS**

- **Reverse Decode**: Answer is given, team must transmit it correctly
- **Silent Relay**: No verbal communication between players
- **Double Signal**: Second code sent after first answer is submitted
- **Night Sprint**: Flashlight signals only, outdoor event in safe area

---

**STAT TRACKING SUGGESTIONS**

- Final time
- Accuracy of message
- Relay handoff success/fumbles
- Code length decoded
- Penalty seconds

---

**NOTES**
Signal Sprint combines traditional athleticism with a brain-teaser element that promotes teamwork under pressure. Great for all ages with moderate agility. Ideal for schoolyards, gymnasiums, or parking lots.
